Jobo PLANO 10 Gestic Multimedia Digital Picture Frame Eliminates Fingerprints

JOBO AG has recently announced the release of a new digital picture frame to add to their growing photo display range. The PLANO 10 Gestic is so named because you only need to "gesture" in front of the frame rather than touch its screen - no more greasy fingerprints on

This frame has integrated sensors so that you don't actually have to touch the screen. All you have to do move your hand or fingers within six inches of the screen to operate the controls.

The PLANO 10 Gestic has a 10.4 inch high resolution TFT-Color-LCD screen with 800 x 600 pixel resolution and an aspect ratio of 4:3. Functions available include picture browsing, thumbnail and slideshow modes, zoom, rotate and four in one window.

Images can be viewed on the frame by inserting your digital camera's storage media. SD, SDHC, MMC, MS and xD memory cards are all supported. The unit comes packaged with a remote control, an AC power adapter and a user manual.

The JOBO PLANO 10 Gestic is due out by the end of November and is expected to sell for around $249.

D-Link Xtreme DIR685 Digital Picture Frame, Wireless Storage And Router

The D-Link DIR-685 is not your average digital photo frame. In fact you could probably mount an argument that this is the least of what it does.

The DIR-685 is first and foremost an 802.11n Wi-Fi router and coming from a company like D-Link, that's no surprise. However you can extend its functionality into a that of a network storage device through the addition of a laptop hard drive. Sharing of other devices is also possible through the USB ports available on the device.

The digital picture frame component is available though a tiny 3.2 inch LCD screen. It runs the FrameChannel software to provide added functionality.

Granted, the D-Link DIR685 Digital Picture Frame may not be for everybody, but it's a pretty cool gadget.
